We have some incredibly unfortunate news to report out of the New Jersey legal community, where a young Fox Rothschild partner recently passed away. Harry S. Jackson III, 33, became a partner at the firm in 2021. According to news reports, he died in a crash on the PA Turnpike when his car collided with a jackknifed tractor-trailer. Jackson’s untimely death came about one week before he was supposed to get married.
Jackson, who was involved in the firm’s gaming practice and was developing an expertise in e-sports, had been named as co-chair of Fox Rothschild’s American Indian Law practice group. He worked out of the firm’s Atlantic City office. As noted in the New Jersey Law Journal by C.J. Fisher, co-chair of the firm’s gaming practice, his colleagues are “truly devastated.” Here’s more:
“It’s still hard to believe that Harry is gone. He was truly one of the kindest, nicest people that you will ever meet, and that has been the resounding theme from everyone who has shared their fondest memories of Harry,” Fisher said.
Jackson was “renowned for his unwavering kindness, generous spirit and affable manner,” and was “an ascending star and respected partner in our gaming department,” Fox Rothschild said in a statement. “He will be deeply missed by his colleagues in the Atlantic City office and the gaming department and all those upon whom he left an indelible impact throughout the firm.”
Jackson was a member of the Nanticoke Lenni-Lenape Tribal Nation, and served as an elected member of its nine-member trial council. His family has requested that any donations be sent to the Nanticoke Lenni-Lenape Tribal National general fund at 118 E. Commerce St. Bridgeton, New Jersey, 08302, or to a memorial scholarship fund established in his memory. Donations to the scholarship fund can be made by sending a check payable to the Atlantic County Bar Association (make sure to write “Harry Jackson memorial scholarship” in the note), 1201 Bacharach Blvd., Atlantic City, New Jersey, 08401.
We here at Above the Law would like to extend our condolences to Harry Jackson’s family, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time.
