Biglaw raises and bonuses keep on coming, and associates are absolutely thrilled.
The latest firm to announce is Katten Muchin. The firm that brought in $742,885,000 gross revenue in 2022, putting it at No. 67 in the most recent Am Law 100, and it’s chosen to use the Cravath scale for its compensation increases as well as its bonuses. Check out the firm’s new compensation grid.
Note that for the Class of 2016 and beyond, Katten has not gone the Milbank route by offering a $435K salary, but instead offers the same salary as the Class of 2017, putting its most senior associates below market. On the other hand, associates who have really billed their butts off this year stand to make above-market bonuses, with its most senior associates eligible to receive up to $57,500 more than their peers at other firms. On top of these elevated bonuses for high billers, there are additional “superstar” bonuses available for the most dedicated associates.
