Woman rescued after getting stuck inside outhouse toilet
Some people will do anything for their Apple Watch.
A Michigan woman recently found herself in an awkward, comical and potentially frightening situation after attempting to retrieve her Apple device from an outhouse toilet and getting stuck in the process.
The incident occurred in an outhouse at the Department of Natural Resources boat launch on Dixon Lake in Otsego County on September 19.
According to a press release, Michigan State Police (MSP) troopers and Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Conservation officers responded to the scene after receiving an emergency distress call from bystanders who heard the woman screaming for help at around 11 a.m. that day.
Upon arriving, they were met with cries for help from a woman who had gotten herself trapped inside the outhouse toilet. Her identity was not disclosed.
The MSP reported that the woman had accidentally dropped her Apple Watch into the toilet and decided to take matters into her own hands by lowering herself inside the toilet to retrieve it.
Unfortunately, her attempt to reclaim the device resulted in her getting stuck in a rather sticky situation.
Thankfully, state troopers were able to extricate her, but to do so, they had to first remove the toilet and then use a strap to hoist the woman out.
Police said that the woman at least managed to successfully retrieve the watch, and was not injured.
In a press release from the MSP, a department spokesperson warned about the dangers of climbing into outhouse toilets.
“If you lose an item in an outhouse toilet, do not attempt to venture inside the containment area. Serious injury may occur,” the department advised.
Bagley Township is located around 240 miles northwest of Detroit.
