Michigan State Police Troopers made a gruesome discovery recently while cleaning up the side of the highway — a fake severed hand.
According to the MSP, troopers from the Cadillac Post found a realistic-looking rubber hand while cleaning trash on the US-131. The grisly prop, which had fake blood dripping from it, appeared to be a Halloween decoration.
Troopers sealed the hand in a bag and took a photo of it, which they shared online.
“They’re not writing citations,” MSP tweeted in a post that’s been viewed more than 5,000 times. “They’re literally cleaning the freeway. They had an interesting find — it’s rubber.”
In California a few years ago, CHP officers made a similar discovery after responding to reports of dead bodies, which turned out to be mannequins, in a pond in Stockton.
As a state trooper, you just never know what you’ll find on the job.
